Too religious, outdated, not including gender fluent teenagers. I'm not shy to say that I'm very much disappointed. I put the book down in the first chapter. The author is not including my daughters, and family like us. It seems like family like us is almost invisible and not worth mentioning. Heartbreaking. I sincerely wish I had bought and read this book at least three years ago. It was insightful, encouraging, and has helped me even though my teens are now 16 and 18. I gave them the love language test and was surprised as to what their love language is. Once I started loving them more that way, I could truly see a difference. I am a physical person but they both leaned toward verbal love so while it's not HARD it does take thought to make sure I'm speaking their love language. I had read the book for wives/husbands years ago and liked it; wish I had got this one sooner (and had read the one for children when they were young). I can't recommend this enough to friends/family!
