I just finished her autobiography and could not put it down. Now I'm reading her biography by Peter FitzSimons. There are some great videos of her on youtube, she lived to be 98 and died in 2011. There were some attempts to film her life story for television. Why there hasn't been a feature film about this remarkable woman is a mystery to me. In the meantime, read the book. Nancy lost much during the war years. But, her bravery and indomitable spirit will live on for eternity. Amazing read. I am so thankful that Nancy told her own story. The authenticity of her own account needs to be preserved forever as a primary source document. It is hard to know what adjective best describes Ms Wake: Tough, tenacious, resourceful, charismatic, smart, or brazen. She certainly had at least nine lives, and the fact that she survived the ordeal, when so many of her friends did not, is a testament to her instincts as well as her ability to work within the context of a team.
